For the past five years, Goode has been the associate pastor at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church in Mobile, Alabama. Before that, he served almost 10 years at Saint James United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, where he married his wife, Rachel, had their first child Caroline, 9, and adopted their daughter, Amelia, 7, from Uganda. They later had their son, Owen, 3, in Mobile.
Goode completed his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in May, and received his undergraduate degree in religion from Olivet Nazarene University.
